Smit Dee lying at Campbeltown 17 March 2009. It would seem that she is an "Aircrew Training Vessel" owned and operated by Smit International (Scotland) Ltd on behalf of the MOD. She is employed by them for such tasks as towing targets and helicopter winching practice. She flies the British flag and is registered at Aberdeen. She was built in 2003.
